DIVINE HEALING

Sermon by Wes Daughenbaugh

INTRODUCTION:  God likes to heal people using us.

**** In 1972 I got a job at Golden Veneer working on “the green chain,” a fast moving conveyor belt that brought various widths of veneer to us. We had to pull these into carts according to their width.  The man up one position from me injured his wrist and was off two weeks.  He came back with a big bandage on it and injured his other wrist.

I saw him trying to pull veneer with one hand and asked what was wrong. He said, “I’ve injured this wrist just like the other one.  If I take two weeks off to get it treated I’ll go broke.  If I pull with one hand I’ll be fired.”

I thought, “Poor Larry.”  Just then God spoke to me, “Go tell that man everything you know about divine healing.”  In between the logs there was a brief pause of up to two minutes.  I used those pauses to tell him every Bible verse and story and testimony I could think of.  Two hours went by.  God spoke to me again and said, “How long are you going to let that man suffer?”

I would have never prayed for him, but then I knew God was going to be highly offended at my unbelief if I didn’t.  I told Larry, “I believe God wants me to pray for your wrist to be healed.”  He said, “Well, a good prayer never hurt nothing.”

I prayed, “Father fix this wrist in Jesus name.”  Veneer was coming, so that’s all I prayed.  I felt nothing special.  In fact, I was bombarded with thoughts that I’d made a fool of myself, that he wasn’t healed, that he’d think there was nothing to Christianity, etc.

Two hours later I dared to look at him and he was flinging veneer with both hands.  I asked what had happened.  He said, “I feel an invisible bandage on this arm, just like the doctor put on.  I can’t see it, but I can feel it and the pain is almost all gone.  I’m just amazed.”  He and his wife came to church that Sunday and both accepted Christ.

Over the years I’ve received healings and have been used to heal many others.  Here’s some key things I’ve learned.

1.  IS IT GOD’S WILL TO HEAL YOU?  FIND OUT!

Don’t just say, “I know God could heal me.  I have faith that he could heal me.”  Actually, that is preliminary to faith but it’s not faith that receives anything.  I’ll explain.  Faith that receives always knows God’s will.  That is the very essence of faith.  So if you want to have faith to receive anything from God the first step is to find out what God’s will is.  This applies to whatever you want to receive from God whether that’s salvation, the baptism of the Holy Spirit, divine healing or anything else.  Does he want to save me?  Does he want to heal me?  Does he want to set me free from addictions or oppression?  Does he want to baptize me in the Holy Spirit?  We should seek Him until we know what he wants to do.

**** Never pray for faith.  Instead, pray to be filled with the knowledge of God’s will. The Bible says, “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God” (Romans 10:17 NKJV).   The reason that faith comes from hearing God’s word is because God’s word reveals God’s will.

The more you get to know God, the more you know God’s will without hearing his voice.  Couples that have been married for a long time do not need to call from the grocery store to ask, “Honey, what kind of bread do you want?  What kind of coffee do you want?”  That’s usually something you already know.  Always keep seeking to KNOW GOD so you’ll always know, “He’ll like this!”

**** One of the main reasons people do not receive from God is because they do not make the effort to find out what God’s will is.  Some assume, “God must be punishing me.”  Or, “I don’t think God wants to.”  Or, “Well, I hope he wants to.”  Go beyond that and aggressively find out what God’s will is!  That may take effort, searching the Bible for instance.  It might take intensive prayer, in some cases fasting.  The idea is to FIND OUT.  The Bible says, “Live as children of the light (for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth) and find out what pleases the Lord” (Eph. 5:8-10 NIV).  Find out if it would please God to heal you.

Paul wrote, “For this reason, since the day we heard about you we have not stopped praying for you.  We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives” (Col. 1:9 NIV).   Paul didn’t ask that God would give them faith but rather, that the Holy Spirit would fill them with the knowledge of God’s will.

HERE ARE SOME VERSES THAT REVEAL GOD’S WILL TO HEAL YOU.

Psalm 103:1-5 NIV  Praise the Lord, my soul;  all my inmost being, praise his holy name.  Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits—who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

Matt. 8:16-17 NIV When evening came, many who were demon-possessed were brought to him, and he drove out the spirits with a word and healed all the sick.  This was to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet Isaiah: “He took up our infirmities and bore our diseases.  That’s a quote from Isaiah 53:4 NIV  Surely he took up our pain and bore our suffering.

1 Peter 2:24 NKJV Who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed.

Matthew 4:24 NKJV  Then His fame went throughout all Syria;  and they brought to Him all sick people who were afflicted with various diseases and torments, and those who were demon-possessed, epileptics, and paralytics;  and He healed them.

Matthew 12:15 NKJV And great multitudes followed Him, and He healed them all.

Luke 4:40 NIV  When the sun was setting, all those who had any that were sick with various diseases brought them to Him;  and He laid His hands on every one of them and healed them.

Luke 6:19 NIV  And the whole multitude sought to touch Him, for power went out from Him and healed them all.

James 5:14-16 NIV  Is anyone among you sick?  Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord.  And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up.  If they have sinned, they will be forgiven.  Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed.  The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.

2.  GOD IS SO GOOD THAT HE PROBABLY WANTS TO HEAL YOU.

**** I was born without arches in my feet. I could put the bottoms of my feet together and no daylight would shine through.  A wet footprint of mine had no arch but looked like a sandal print.  In my 20’s I had terrible pain in my feet.  They’d inflame.  I’d have to get up in the night to ice them. I took hot showers standing in cold water filled with ice cubes so hot water wouldn’t touch my feet. In a hot tub I’d have to keep my feet out of the water.  A car heater blowing on my feet would make them inflame in agonizing pain.

I wore Thomas heels, had 3/8 inch scaphoid pads put in my shoes for arch supports and would stand on my tip toes a lot to strengthen the muscles on the bottom of my feet.  During those years I walked hundreds of miles in the streets signing up kids to ride busses.  I signed up over 5,000 children personally.

When I pioneered a church God helped us wonderfully and one day I said, “God you are so good, you probably want to heal my feet but I think my unbelief is hindering you.”  For the next YEAR I repented daily of unbelief and asked God to cleanse me.  I repented for the unbelief of my good father—who was deceived into becoming a Mason.  He read atheistic books by Voltaire and other things. Our home was supercharged with unbelief.  So I was repenting for any unbelief in my father and ancestors as well as my own.

One night I had a lady prophetess/evangelist speak.  She said, “There is someone here born without arches in your feet.  If you’ll come forward God will put arches in your feet.”  A lady stood up before I could.  A voice said to my mind, “That’s her, not you.”  But the lady preacher encouraged others to come as well.  The voice seemed to say, “You don’t have enough faith anyway.”

Just then the lady evangelist said, “These are not just faith healings.  These are I love you healings.”

With that I went forward and she prayed, holding my feet and saying, “ARCHES IN THE NAME OF JESUS.”  I kept saying, “I believe you love me.  I believe you love me.”  I didn’t feel anything.

She said, “Now look at your feet.”  I put the bottoms of my feet together and there was about ¾ inch of light!  I went home, got my feet wet, and make tracts around the bathroom because to my joy, those tracts had arches!

I took my family to Disney World in Florida and carried my 40 pound daughter around on hard surfaces for three days with no foot problems.

That healing has been such a blessing to my life!  I highly recommend that you ASSUME, “God is so good he probably wants to heal me.”  Then ask God to forgive you and cleanse you from any hindering unbelief.  1 John 1:8-9 NASB says, “If we confess our sins he is faithful and righteous, so that he will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

Why not say, “God, you are so good, you probably want to  (fill in the blank)  and I don’t want any unbelief to hinder you. Please forgive me and cleanse me from unbelief.”

We must learn to hate unbelief, worry, fear, anxiety, and depression and LOOK TO THE LORD’S GOODNESS.

**** When Moses was leading the whole nation of Israel to Canaan land the people were so sinful that God sent fiery poisonous serpents among them.  God told Moses to make a brass serpent and put it on a pole.  Then anyone who looked at the serpent was healed.  (See Num. 21:9.) This is a type of Christ on the cross.  He crucified our sin on the cross.  He was our sin offering.  When we look to Him we see God’s goodness, mercy and love.  So LOOK TO GOD’S GOODNESS.

3.  DIVINE HEALTH IS BETTER THAN DIVINE HEALING.

**** I was going to speak at a men’s breakfast one morning in Silver City, New Mexico. I was siting beside the youth pastor who was telling me his health routines.  He was taking vitamins, minerals, probiotics, prebiotics, and many other things along with a rigorous exercise routine.

I said, “I take fish oil and a few vitamins and I try to walk a lot.  But my main health principle is to not hate anybody, to not be bitter or unforgiving, to not be critical or judgmental.”  I said, “Remember that the ancient Israelites were eating Manna, the bread of angels.  It had every vitamin, protein, trace mineral, pro-biotic—it had everything the human body needed.  Yet the people all died prematurely during a forty year period, because they were grumblers, complainers, lived in strife, were criticizing and hating others.

I quoted a few verses, “A heart at peace gives life to the body but envy rots the bones” (Proverbs 14:30).  I told him my #1 health principle was to live a life of love. Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children.  And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God” (Eph. 5:1 ESV). Live a life of love.  Live in love.

He got very quiet because he hated his father, who had abused and neglected him.  In that meeting he received a huge deliverance and was baptized in the Holy Spirit.

Anger, jealousy, bitterness, unforgiveness, grumbling, unbelief, complaining, strife, accusing, and judging are all very bad for your health.  Many doctors have written articles and books on the affects of stresses and believe that most diseases are stress related.

**** This may explain why one man who was 141 years old in India smoked cigarettes every day.  One lady of 112 years of age was asked her secret and she said she ate fried chicken and Twinkies every day.  In my opinion, those people are living long because they are most likely unusually calm people who avoid strife and all strong negative emotions.  And a heart at peace just might help you live long and healthy even if you don’t do everything else like a perfect health enthusiast.  The Bible says  “Resentment kills a fool, and envy slays the simple” (Job 5:2 NIV).

4.   GOD LIKES TO GO FOR THE ROOT OF THE PROBLEM

**** In Texas I was praying for people and a young Hispanic woman cried, “Pray for me.  My heart is mal-functioning and my intestines are so inflamed the doctors think I have Crones Disease.”

I said, “Put your hand on your heart.”  I put my hand on top of hers but the fiery anointing I felt in my hand would not go into her heart.

I said, “Put your hand on your intestines.  I put my hand on top of hers, but the anointing would not go into her intestines.

Then I put my hand on her head.  Anointing rushed into her brain!  I said, “Is someone verbally abusing you?”

She burst out in tears.  Her husband was very abusive and almost impossible to live with.  The stress of not knowing how to react to him was causing physical malfunctions in her heart and intestines.  That was the ROOT.  God doesn’t go after the symptoms.  He goes after the ROOT OF THE PROBLEM.

Many times the ROOT of the problem is some kind of very strong negative emotion.  I urge you to take inventory to see if you are living with strong negative emotions—and if so, tell me which ones.  We may quickly get the ROOT of something that is causing a malfunction in your body.

Whatever I said, whatever I prayed, that young lady got the microphone the next night and testified so long about how God miraculously helped her get along with her husband—I almost didn’t get to preach!

**** In Burley Idaho a Hispanic lady said to me, “I want you to cast a demon of gluttony out of me.”  I felt a check in my spirit and asked her, “Are you living with some strong negative emotion?”  She said, “My son died eight years ago and I’ve been overheating since he died.”

Instead of casting something out I felt lead to pray something in.  I began to pray from Isaiah 61:3 “Dear Lord, please give her a crown of beauty for ashes.  Give her the oil of joy instead of mourning.  And give her a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair.”

Suddenly the anointing began to flash in my foot like 20,000 volts of electricity as if God was saying, “That’s it!  That’s it!”  I put my foot on her foot and power shot out of me and into her.  She fell to the floor and burst out in Holy laughter.  She laughed for a very long time because her problem wasn’t gluttony, it was sorrow.  God blasted out her sorrow with the Joy of the Lord.

The next day the pastor’s wife told me that the lady had showed her the shoe I put my foot on and the top had melted in the area the size of a quarter where that bolt of Holy fire shot into her. That’s called a “sign.” I THINK GOD GAVE HER THE SIGN to remind her, “You don’t have a spirit of gluttony.  Just rejoice in the Lord.” Acts 2:43 says, “Many wonders and signs were done through the apostles.”

5.  UNFORGIVENESS AND ITS COUSINS ARE COMMON ROOTS.

When I was twenty-three I was hired as a part time staff member at a church.  I was directing a choir on Saturday when a deacon came in with a drunk man. They knelt at in front of the platform (which we called the altar area) and began to loudly pray and interrupt the choir practice.

I’d prayed with the drunk man two hours one day and two hours on another day and I figured it would be another long prayer session and I could not move the choir.  So I knelt by the deacon and said, “Would you please take this man in another room and pray for him there?”

The deacon jumped to his feet and yelled, “How can you call yourself a man of God and turn a lost sinner away from God’s holy altar!”  I didn’t answer but just smiled and they walked away into another room.  I thought, “You big turkey, you.”

The next day I thought he’d apologize, but he didn’t and I said in my heart, “He’s a bigger turkey than I thought he was.”  God started convicting me.  I said, “Lord, don’t you remember that Jesus said ‘If your brother sins against you rebuke him and if he repents forgive him’? (Luke 17:3) “Well, he hasn’t repented and that’s why I haven’t forgiven him.”

God spoke immediately, “You are just like a man that went down to the beach and a seagull flew over and had a bowel movement that landed right on the man’s nose.  He looked at the bird as it flew away and said, “You dirty bird, you!  I’m going to leave this right here on my face until YOU come back and wipe it off!

Then God said, “Bitterness is showing on your face, and you can’t hide it.”

I asked, “How do I get it off?”

God said, “Forgive him before he asks.”

I forgave him without telling him so that no bitterness showed on my face. I was just friendly as if nothing had happened.  He never said he was sorry but he brought me presents—home made (granola and deer venison) and we became friends.

Over the years God continued to teach me about forgiveness and how to overcome unforgiveness, bitterness and the cousins—sadness, sorrow, victim mentality, and self-pity.  I eventually wrote the book 21 WAYS TO FORGIVE.  We’ve placed over 7,720 copies into the prison system so far.

**** In Michigan I met a couple who were lay leaders in the church. But the woman said she had a demon in her body that would move around and poke her and then she’d bleed from her intestines.  They’d tried unsuccessfully to get healing from that for four years.

I taught the message 21 WAYS TO FORGIVE and this woman forgave the woman she hated.  Her father remarried late in life and this new mother-in-law moved him from Michigan into a nursing home in Florida where none of his family or friends could visit him.  So she hated that woman—and this allowed a spirit of affliction to actually come into her body and torment her.

The next day I prayed for people to be filled with the Spirit and she felt that evil spirit leave as the Holy Spirit filled her.

Here’s the key.  If we want a certain sin the spirit behind that sin has a legal right to oppress us.  Romans 1 explains how God “gave them over” in a downward progression.  If a person wants to hate someone the devil will demand that God give him permission to oppress that person with a spirit of hatred.  When the person repents, then God revokes that permission.  The demon then has no legal right to stay.  Then the person can be delivered easily and if the demon has caused disease, they can be quickly healed.   AGAIN—THIS IS GOD GOING AFTER THE ROOT.

6.  I RECEIVED A TANGIBLE ANOINTING OF HOLY FIRE TO HELP OTHERS.

In 1991 I had been praying that God would use me to deliver people from demonic oppression.  I had been repenting for a lack of power to help people.  One day in July as I was doing laundry to help me wife a fiery tangible anointing came into my right hand and stayed.  I felt it run up to my elbow. Then it went into my other hand and arm.  Then I felt it go into my feet until both feet felt like they could burn holes in the carpet.

I went through an adjustment time and had to learn to MAJOR ON WORSHIP, MINOR ON WARFARE and MAJOR ON REVEALING CHRIST and MINOR ON EXPOSING THE DEVIL.

I learned the anointing was for deliverance, healing and the infilling of the Holy Spirit.  It could also act like a kind of Word of Knowledge by the way it would flow in or not flow into people, like the example of the lady in Texas where the anointing would only flow into her head.

**** The most common healings I’ve had flow through me have been healing of bones:  shoulders, backs, hips, feet.  It could be that God gave me a special gift for bones, but I think that when bones need to be healed there is no mysterious root cause.  Someone wrenched their back or were in a car wreck.  There is no sorrow, no verbal abuse going on, no hatred of a mother-in-law.  It’s just simple.

**** I was back East when a young lady asked me to pray that her blind eye would be healed.  She explained that it was legally blind.  It was crooked, and her brain shut it down so she wouldn’t see two images.  I put my hand on her eye and felt a flow of a fiery current go down my wrist into her eye.  When I took my hand off her eye was straight.  She was rejoicing, “I have depth perception!”  She told me she’d been born that way and had an operation when she was three years old to fix it but that had failed.  For the next twenty years she had prayed that before she got married God would heal her crooked eye.  You see, there was no ROOT problem there.  It was a simple healing.

**** In Colorado I was praying for people to be filled with the spirit and a man grabbed my hand and held it on his chest. I finally pulled away and he fell face down on the steps of the platform.  I prayed down the line and then came walking back on those steps.  He saw my feet and grabbed my feet so that I couldn’t move.

I bent over and put my hand on his back and said, “Father, I don’t know what this man needs.  But he reminds me of that little woman who pressed through the crowd to touch you.  Whatever he needs, please do it for him in Jesus name.”

He had polio when he was three years old and now he was forty-three.  For forty hears his left leg was paralyzed.  He would step forward with his right foot, then drag his left foot. He could not lift that leg.  But when he got up from the altar he was squatting and then lifting his left leg and then he ran around the church several times rejoicing.  There was no mysterious root cause—just a paralyzed leg!

God is worthy of empowered service, empowered prayer, and empowered praise.  We should all ask Him to empower us for His glory.  He is worthy of an empowered church.  He is worthy of YOU being empowered by his Spirit to help others for his glory!

7.  IT’S VERY IMPORTANT THAT WE DESIRE FOR JESUS TO BE GLORIFIED.

This is the big WHY of divine healing. The Bible says, “You do not have because you do not ask God.  When you ask, you do not receive because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures” (James 4:2-3 NIV).

There is a guaranteed RIGHT MOTIVE.  It’s the motive to receive in order to bring more glory to Jesus.

Paul wrote, “I eagerly expect and hope that I will in no way be ashamed, but will have sufficient courage so that now as always Christ will be exalted in my body, whether by life or by death.  For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.  If I am to go on living in the body, this will mean fruitful labor for me.  Yet what shall I choose?  I do not know!  I am torn between the two:  I desire to depart and be with Christ, which is better by far; but it is more necessary for you that I remain in the body.  Convinced of this, I know that I will remain, and I will continue with all of you for your progress and joy in the faith, so that through my being with you again your boasting in Christ Jesus will abound on account of me” (Phil. 1:21-26 NIV)

We should want to be healed so that we can live longer on the earth to do God’s will and to bring glory to Jesus.

Jesus talked about the Holy Spirit and said, “He will glorify me because it is from me that he will receive what he will make known to you.  All that belongs to the Father is mine.  That is why I said the Spirit will receive from me what he will make known to you” (John 16:14-16 NIV).  The key, HE WILL GLORIFY ME.    All the gifts of healing belong to Jesus—all the anointings, miracles and various gifts.  The Holy Spirit gives those to us to glorify Jesus.

The Holy Spirit loves to glorify Jesus.  The Father seeks to glorify Jesus.  Jesus said, “I am not seeking glory for myself; but there is one who seeks it, and he is the judge,” (John 8:50 NIV).

As he went along, he saw a man blind from birth.  His disciples asked him, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?”  “Neither this man nor his parents sinned,” said Jesus, “but this happened so that the works of God might be displayed in him” (John 9:1-3 NIV).    Jesus sees your physical problem as a DISPLAY CASE FOR THE GLORY OF GOD.

**** CONCERNING LAZARUS, “When he heard this, Jesus said, “This sickness will not end in death, no it is for God’s glory so that God’s Son may be glorified through it” (John 11:4 NIV).  The Holy Spirit and the Father like to heal even the most difficult cases to glorify the name of Jesus, the Son.

It is God’s glory to help His people, His children, even the lost.  It’s his glory to display his compassion—his love using his power.  He “glories” in showing how much he loves people.

**** This is why we want other believers to be used in healing, not just a few of us.  This is why at the end of our services we should offer to pray for people and give God an opportunity to display His power.  Most church services end directly after a sermon with no demonstration of power.  That is not good enough.  We should want God to be more glorified than that!

“Having a form of godliness but denying it’s power, from such turn away” (2 Tim. 3:5 NKJV).  If we deny God an opportunity to display his power we aren’t much different even if we believe in God’s power.  We’ve denied God’s power an opportunity.

**** This is why we pray in the name of Jesus with confidence.  We know the Father and the Holy Spirit want to glorify Jesus.  These healings and miracles aren’t happening because we are wonderful. They happen because Jesus is wonderful and the Father and the Holy Spirit want to glorify Him! After a healing all the glory MUST go back to God.  God spoke to me once, “I’m not impressed with your anointing.”  No matter how great your anointing—it belongs to God.  He’s impressed with little reflexive deeds of love, kindness and consideration and all of heaven is impressed with humility.  The little lunch of five loaves and two fish must not boast that it fed five thousand men plus women and children. It must not think it is superior to any other little lunch.  The glory must go to God.

8.  THERE ARE VARIOUS STREAMS OF HEALING.

If your miracle doesn’t happen in the stream of miraculous faith and anointing it may be in another stream, but God has it for you.

**** Once I was itching so badly. I was rebuking the devil and trying to believe I was healed. Nothing worked. A doctor told me to switch to a different soap. The one I was using was too harsh.  My answer was in the stream of knowledge.  Ask God to be your nutrition teacher.

**** Wisdom is a stream of healing.  Wisdom knows how to rightly divide your time between the different priority areas of life according to God’s will.  It signals you through peace in your heart. “And let the peace of God rule in your hearts” (Col. 3:15 NKJV). God’s peace is ghe UMPIRE in our hearts—ruling what is in bounds and out of bounds.  This is the greatest stress reliever. Many afflictions are stress related.  Wisdom keeps you from feeling stressed.

**** Discipline is a stream of healing.  If we know what to eat, what not to eat, and that we should exercise—we need discipline to do what we know is the right way to care for our bodies.  “For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as the Lord does the church” (Eph. 5:29 NIV).  God taught me that priority #2 in life is my health because, “A dead servant can’t serve anybody.”

**** Love is a healing stream.  Love conquers anger, bitterness, rage, hatred, self-pity, sorrow and all the negative emotions that can tear up our health.

IN CLOSING:  HERE’S WHAT WE KNOW.

            1.  The price for healing and health was paid for by Jesus at the whipping post, where a great deal of his blood was shed.  By his stripes we are healed. Not a drop of his blood will be wasted!

            2.  God is so good—he delights in helping us, answering our cries for help.

**** In 1996 I went through a church split and slander attack that lasted seven months.  After that I became an evangelist and fasted three days to prepare. The stress and the fasting threw my heart out of rhythm.  I had a skipping heart rate for nineteen months.  It would never beat 100 beats without skipping and sometimes would only beat once before skipping—beat, skip, beat, skip.

I asked God to help me find something natural that would help or heal.  I eventually found Noni Juice—from the Noni trees of Polynesia, a dark bitter high anti-oxidant juice that can be very healing.  A year after becoming an evangelist we moved from Omaha to Chehalis, WA.  As I was driving out of town I pulled over to the shoulder. I got out and shook the dust off of my shoes.  I felt prompted to do that.  It wasn’t out of anger.  It was a way of leaving the hurt behind.  Jesus said, “And whoever will not receive you nor hear your words, when you depart from that house or city, shake off the dust from your feet” (Matthew 10:14 NKJV).  I literally did that, but not out of anger.  I just obeyed Jesus.

The next three days I drank a 32-ounce bottle of Noni Juice in the moving truck to keep it from spoiling. When I got to Chehalis, Washington my heart was healed.  I don’t know if it was the Noni Juice or the relief from stress that came by shaking the dust off as a way of leaving the hurt behind me OR BOTH.  But I was healed.  God had an answer.  God answered prayer.  God is good.

            3.  We know that God loves to help us with ROOT CAUSES.  If you have persistent strong negative emotions, please tell me or tell someone who is praying with you.  God loves to pull out the ROOT of the problem.

            4.  We know that God’s power is capable of any miracle, even recreating organs and body parts.  In this universe no energy can be added. It can only be converted from one form to another. This is a law of thermodynamics.  What’s in this universe is all there is.  But when God injects energy from heaven—it’s miraculous immediately and all things are possible.  The energy for healing is not coming from this world—so it’s immediately miraculous above every natural law.

            5.  We know that the Holy Spirit loves to glorify the name of Jesus and that God’s glory is to help his people.  Desire to receive a healing for his glory so that you can serve him longer with more strength and vitality for longer. He will honor that motive.

            6.  We know that supernatural signs follow believers.  The Holy Spirit confirms that Jesus is God in human form, that he died for our sins and rose from the dead.  Every healing is a testimony to that fact. The Holy Spirit loves to confirm that!

            7.  We know that God loves it when we believe his promises and believe that he is good and that he is powerful.  The Bible says that heroes of faith, “Who through faith subdued kingdoms, worked righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions…” (Heb. 11:33 NKJV).  Let’s not let those promises go to waste.  He wants to give us healings, blessings, and anointings.  Remember, “These are I LOVE YOU healings.”  BELIEVE THAT GOD LOVES YOU.

LASTLY:  Over the years when I’ve prayed for people to be healed I’ve first worshipped God.  If I didn’t feel any anointing, as I’d thank God, worship him and praise him the anointing would manifest, grow and then flow.  When you pray for people, I encourage you to first thank and worship God.

I LOVE YOU.  GOD BLESS YOU.
