The Humbling of America and the 3rd Great Awakening

Dear friends,

I’ve been seeking God A LOT and especially as to the future of America. A pastor named Dana Coverstone became a You Tube sensation when he started posting 15 minute videos of him describing in detail ominous dreams where a “white figure” tells us all, repeatedly, to “Brace Yourselves.” My first reaction was negative and I blogged about that August 17. That’s worth re-reading.

Then I watched more of his videos and began to think perhaps God was warning us through him. There were a couple of things in the dreams that I thought sounded okay. So I wrote another blog giving my new opinion. I fasted three days and on that second day I watched a video of him describing a dream of men in boats destroying the Statue of Liberty. There wasn’t a single word of comfort in his message, and it angered me.

The third night of my fast I got my answer. Rabbi Maurice Sklar had a vision July 1 where he saw that there was a Satanic plot by elite people meeting in Europe to destroy America through this coming election. He said the future of the nation is at stake. However, he emphasized that the devil’s plan must be thwarted by prayer, intercession and fasting. HERE’S THE BOTTOM LINE. God has a plan and the devil has a plan. God’s plan is to humble America and then bring about a 3rd Great Awakening that will affect the entire world. The devil’s plan is to prevent that revival by destroying America.

Dana Coverstone’s dreams do not distinguish between judgments of God and attacks from the devil, which I consider irresponsible. I do believe we’re headed into a time of great trouble that God will use to mature and empower the church and humble the wicked and all the proud. So we must humble ourselves and pray as never before. But in Dana’s dreams a “white figure” often appears and says, “Brace yourselves. Brace, Brace, Brace yourselves.” I finally realized that has to be a spurious source. Satan can appear as an angel of light and we are to test the spirits. I realized that no-where in the Bible has God ever spoken to anyone to “Brace yourself.” You see, no one can brace themselves for or from the judgment of God. But if it’s the devil, then the righteous will never be shaken. Psalm 55:22 NIV says, “Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you. He will never let the righteous be shaken.” The ESV words it, “He will never permit the righteous to be moved.“ Why would you need to brace yourself unless you were going to be seriously shaken? It’s as if this white figure is saying, “You are going to be shaken badly! So brace yourselves.” That is actually an accusation and not a spiritual warning.

When we abide in the shadow of the Almighty, we don’t have to brace ourselves. When we come under his sheltering wing we don’t have to brace ourselves. “Brace yourselves” is not a faith producing word. It produces fatalism and fear and is not scriptural. When Jesus appeared to Paul after his arrest in Jerusalem he said, “Take courage. As you have testified for me in Jerusalem so you must testify for me in Rome.” Jesus didn’t say, “Now Paul, brace yourself for an assassination attempt, two years of false imprisonment, a hurricane type of storm at sea, a shipwreck, a snake bite and a plague.” That would have caused Paul’s faith to wilt! “Take courage” is much better! It’s the way Jesus talks!

When Jesus was with Martha at the tomb of Lazarus, he said to take away the stone. Jesus didn’t say, “Now Martha, brace yourself. He’s been dead four days, this is going to be rough. Brace yourself.” No—He said, “Did I not tell you that if you believe you will see the glory of God?” That’s the way Jesus speaks.

Dana Coverstone, in his first posted video, said that he reads 40 newspapers a day from all over the world. Most news sources are from the devil’s point of view, not God’s. That would flood his mind with negativity. The dreams could be inspired by a bad spirit, or be dreams from all he has flooded his mind with. But we have more sure things to trust in than dreams.

Several years ago my wife’s parents were dying. We got in the car to drive up toward their house and my wife was sobbing, “I’m so sad. I’m so sad.” Suddenly the Spirit of God came powerfully upon her. She stretched out her hand and prophesied so strongly I thought the windshield would pop out! God spoke through her to us. He told us a time of great trouble was coming but that He would be with us to provide and protect. We were to draw near to Him and trust Him. When she quit prophesying she said, “It’s like cake batter. It has to be put into the oven to become a cake.” I said, “That’s a good analogy.” She said, “Yes. I just saw that in a vision.” I believe the church is going into the oven of adversity but God will make it all redemptive, bringing great maturity and revival—so that the batter becomes a beautiful cake, so to speak, and fulfills its destiny.

In Oct of 2008 God spoke to me through a prophetic man and said that a great storm was coming. He said to walk with Him and hold His hand. He said, “Do not stray more than an arms length from me.” That’s much different than “Brace yourselves.” Also, in one of Dana’s dreams, the white figure said, “Brace yourselves on my word and my promises.” That gave me pause, as if, “Well, okay. Maybe that is the Lord.” However, a brace is a prop. If you brace something up you prop it up. God’s word and promises are NEVER just a prop! They are our life, our bread, our meat, our milk, our light! Jesus said, “If you abide in Me and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish and it will be done for you,” (John 15:7-8). Jesus wants us to abide in Him, not brace ourselves. In Him there is no need for a brace! And His word is to abide in us, not as a prop, but transforming us into the image of Jesus Himself.

The Bible says, “This is the confidence we have in approaching God, that if we ask anything according to His will He hears us. And if He hears us, we know we have what we asked of him,” 1 Jn. 5:14. It is not God’s will for America to be destroyed in civil war. It is not God’s will for Marxism to take over. It is not God’s will for a revival to be prevented while Satan glorifies himself! It IS God’s will to humble America. He is giving America disruption instead of destruction and told me to “Don’t give Me disruption.” I knew I was to keep thanking, trusting, seeking and obeying without disruption and God would be with me. So pray for revival. Pray for God to preserve our nation. Pray for God to open the eyes of the nation. Pray for powerful spiritual leaders to be raised up. Pray for a great harvest of souls. Do pray for God’s protection. Pray that God will show you how to protect your family. But do not fear. Jesus says, “See to it that you are not alarmed.”

Regarding Dana Coverstone, I pray for him. I’ve been deceived a few times in my life but God brought me out of those times and I pray God will do the same for him. The devil really is going to try to destroy this nation but you’ll do no good for yourself or anyone else by “bracing.” Come under God’s wing. Draw nigh to God and He’ll draw nigh to you. Humble yourselves and the Lord will lift you up. God gives grace to the humble, and that means His activated power!
